Harris Corporation Tactical Radios Part of New Museum Exhibit Saluting U.S. Air Force Role in Iraq and Afghanistan

'Warrior Airmen' Highlights Air Force People and Technology Deployed During Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom

ROCHESTER, NY, January 13, 2009 — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, is participating in a new Warrior Airmen exhibit that pays tribute to the contributions of the U.S. Air Force in the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. The exhibit opens January 13 at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton, Ohio.

Two Harris tactical radios — the JTRS-approved Falcon III® AN/PRC-152(C) and the Falcon II® AN/PRC-117F — will be among the items on display in "Warrior Airmen," which highlights the essential role of the Air Force personnel and technology during Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Both radios have been widely fielded by the Air Force and other branches of the U.S. Department of Defense and are providing vital and reliable communication capabilities to deployed forces.

"Harris is proud to join the Museum in honoring the exemplary performance of Air Force personnel in recent conflicts," said Dana Mehnert, president, RF Communications Division, Harris Corporation. "We're also thrilled at the recognition for the AN/PRC-152(C) and AN/PRC-117F radios. Our radios are providing crucial ground-to-ground and ground-to-air communication links, allowing the Air Force to react in real-time to changing situations on the battlefield."

The Falcon II AN/PRC-117F(C) manpack radio covers the full 30-512 MHz frequency band using military standard voice and data waveforms, ensuring interoperability with a wide range of ground-based and airborne equipment. The radio also provides advanced tactical satellite voice and data capabilities required to communicate on the digital battlefield. The JTRS approved The Falcon III AN/PRC-152(C) handheld radio also covers the full 30-512 MHz frequency band with added digital and analog APCO P25 capability to support interoperability with first responders. The 152 also recently became the first JTRS approved handheld radio to receive JITC certification for SATCOM DAMA.

Both radios offer the Harris High Performance Waveform (HPW), offering users the ability to send critical mission data and imagery over low-bandwidth Beyond Line of Sight SATCOM or LOS radio networks.

The success of the AN/PRC-117F and AN/PRC-152 have led to the creation of the next-generation Falcon III AN/PRC-117G multiband manpack, the first tactical radio to provide both narrowband voice and wideband data capability in a single device. The JTRS-approved AN/PRC-117G offers a 4-fold increase in frequency coverage and delivers secure IP data at on-air rates up to 5 Megabits per second using its Type-1 certified, SCA-compliant software-defined architecture.

Warrior Airmen tells the stories of battlefield and expeditionary combat airmen and includes more than 400 items from the conflict, three dioramas, interactive displays, photographs, videos, and compelling personal accounts.
